UNB, BAGHERHAT:At least 490 killing incidents took place in the country’s 10 southwestern districts in last six months by the terrorists.

Sources said of the total, 103 persons were killed in Khulna, 70 in Bagherhat, 62 in Jessore, 72 in Kushtia, 63 in Chuadanga, 55 in Jhenidah, 21 in Satkhira, 17 in Narail, 15 in Magura and 12 in Meherpur.

The people of the region are passing their days in great panic, as terrorists are active even in rural areas. The sources said some outlawed party activists were also killed in internal clashes and in gunfire with police in different parts of the Khulna Division. Police said they have arrested a number of extremists conducting raids at the terror-infested areas.
